Ahilyanagar-Swathadarpan Pratishthan ran a one-day international conference on "Progress in the Pharmaceutical Sector" at Sun-N-Sand Hotel, Shirdi on February 28 in an enthusiastic and educational atmosphere. The objective of the conference was to share information about modern trends in pharmaceutical research, new technologies, and exchange knowledge between students, researchers, and the industry. A large number of experts, professors, researchers, students, and industry representatives from various states of the country and abroad participated, said Dr. Prashant Shinde, Chairman of Shantiniketan College.
The program began with the welcome speech of Prof. Dr. Jaideep Pawar. After this, the conference was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries. The chief guests as well as international and national expert speakers Dr. Maria Veleva (Bulgaria), Kedar Suvarnapatki (Singapore), Bhausaheb Patil (U.K.) and Dr. Appaji Mandhare (Mumbai), Dr. Ramesh Sawant guided the attendees. All the dignitaries were felicitated with bouquets and mementos. The secretary of the institute, Sonali Shinde, presented the bright journey of Shantiniketan College of Pharmacy from its establishment to organizing the international conference.
Various technical sessions were organized in the conference. In these sessions, in-depth guidance was given on modern pharmaceutical manufacturing technology, new directions in drug research, quality control, opportunities in the industry, as well as the changing needs of pharmacy education.
A panel discussion of experts was also organized during the program. In this discussion, students asked questions and sought guidance on research, higher education, career opportunities and expectations in the industry. This interactive session received a spontaneous response from the students. The dignitaries present appreciated the educational activities of the institute for the successful organization of the conference and expressed their confidence in continuing to organize such international level programs in the future. The trustee of the institute, Dr. Sunil Awari, said that this conference was useful for enhancing knowledge for the students, inspiring research and developing a global educational perspective.
On this occasion, the souvenir of the conference was released by the dignitaries. During the conference, the participating researchers and students presented their research through posters. The winners of the e-poster competition organized earlier on February 21 were felicitated at the closing ceremony. The first place in the competition was won by Sheetal Tiple (Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Wardha), second place by Shubhangi Albhar (Mahatma Gandhi Vidyamandir Pharmacy College, Nashik), third place by Ketaki Shinde (Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth, Karad) and Abhay Dhumal (Shantiniketan College of Pharmacy, Dhotre) for encouragement. The winners were honored with certificates and victory signs. The conference was coordinated by the M. Ms. Smriti Rathod, a first year Pharmacy student, presented the vote of thanks and Dr. Priyanka Sable presented the vote of thanks. The program was successfully completed with the joint efforts of the college students, faculty and staff.
